At Milford Junior School, personal, social and health education (PSHE) and relationships education, enables our children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of a society, where they develop to their full potential. Our PSHE Curriculum aims to help children understand how to flourish personally and socially, and tackles many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up. We provide our children with opportunities to learn about ways to relax through daily mindfulness activities, such as meditation, breathing and visualisation exercises rights as well as teaching them about rights and responsibilities, fundamental British values and helping them to appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society. Our children are encouraged to develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to a nurturing school environment and the wider community.
As a school, we believe that children are all individuals and therefore, we aim to encourage mutual respect, responsibility and foster self-esteem. The skills, knowledge and attributes that they gain, will not only equip our pupils with the skills to make informed decisions and opinions but also help them to stay healthy, safe, unlock their academic potential, enabling them to be resilient and self-motivated in all aspects of their life.
